I was contacted by a representative from Zenni Optical last month and immediately jumped at the chance to be part of their new #myfaceshape campaign. I’m such a die hard fan of the company, I’ve lost track of how many pairs of Zenni glasses I own. They have fantastic prices on trendy glasses and I’ve been wearing them for years now. To show y’all how much I wear Zenni’s glasses, the first picture is of my regular daily glasses. I purchased them myself (they were not sponsored in anyway) from Zenni probably a year ago, and I wear them day in and day out. I will also say, with complete honesty, I receive a compliment on my glasses (from men and women alike!) on a near daily basis.
One aspect that I have not always had good luck with, is prescription sunglasses. And I know I’m not alone in that regard. Many people who need prescription sunglasses, will often opt for a beach day consisting of contacts and cheap sunglasses for multiple reasons. 1) The number one complaint I hear is: “The prescription sunglasses I bought are too small for my face. I want oversized sunglasses like everyone else and the ones I received look like regular glasses that are tinted.” 2) They’re a luxury that’s way too expensive. 3) I hate having to take time off work to go to the eye doctor.
Ok, so first off, when ordering from Zenni Optical, you will need a valid prescription. I went to my local Sam’s Club for my yearly exam. At the end of the exam, when they want you to pick out glasses, I told the lady that I was going to look online for a pair and asked her to write down my prescription. Be prepared, they may give you a little attitude about this. If you cannot read some of the numbers on the prescription, GO THROUGH EVERY SINGLE NUMBER WITH THEM. Don’t worry about them judging you, nothing is worse than getting a prescription you can’t read and then guessing at the numbers.
Now the sunglasses I am wearing in this post, the Premium Cat-Eye Sunglasses (in Dusty Rose) are extremely affordable: less than $33. With all the various add-ons of tints and such, I believe the total came to around $70. I think it’s very important to note that although these particular sunglasses were sponsored, I chose these myself and I would have purchased this pair had they not been sponsored. That’s how much I love these. Some reviews online were mixed due to their size, but they were perfect for me and just what I was looking for.
I can’t tell you what a relief it is, as a glasses wearer, to have sunglasses you can actually see in. No fumbling with contacts, no grabbing an oversized hat to shade you from the sun, you can just slip these on and see.
I was not monetarily sponsored for this post. However, I did receive a pair of glasses (of my choosing) for an honest review of the product. All opinions are my own.
