Spring Lipstick Reviews 2018 (Part 2)

Happy Monday everyone! I hope y’all had a great and relaxing weekend! We did absolutely nothing around our home, except eat junk food and watch movies we rented from Redbox. Scooby-Doo meets Batman for Logan and Darkest Hour for Noah and myself. Both real snooze buttons, in my opinion. But! They were perfect picks for a relaxing, morph into the couch kind of weekend! I also got the chance to work on this post: part 2 of my lipstick reviews! Did you find anything you liked in the first part of the review? Yes? No? Well that’s ok, because there just might be something for you here!

Let’s get started!

SHOWN ABOVE: ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS LIP GLOSS IN SHADE PETAL

This was my favorite of the four lipsticks you’re about to see today. That’s actually because it’s not a lipstick, but in fact a lipgloss. Smooth, slick, and it packs a full punch of color. I absolutely loved this sweet, loud, and very flirty color. Not quite a red, but a bright berry-red shade that goes with quite a bit in my closet! It felt great on, but also wore like a champion. I will definitely be buying more shades for my make up dresser!

SHOWN ABOVE: ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS LIPSTICK IN SHADE CATNIP

Another lipstick by Anastasia Beverly Hills, but this one I did not like as much. It felt very strange on my lips. I put it on and soon after, I felt it begin to get stiff and crack in the creases of my lips when I was speaking. So, not in love with this particular lipstick. If it gives you any indication of how I felt, I bought this lipstick in four shades, and returned all of the other three. The only reason I kept this one, was because of this lush rich color. In my humble opinion, I think this lip color is a slightly darker dupe of Kylie Jenner’s Posie K color. It’s $10 cheaper, but it doesn’t come with a lip liner, so I think it’s kind of a 6-one-way, half-dozen-the-other situation. If you’re replicating this look at home, be aware I’m wearing a thin dotting of Carmex over this lipstick.

SHOWN ABOVE: THE BALM MEET MATT(E) HUGHES IN SHADE FAITHFUL

Ah, last but not least- The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes. I was complaining about how dry the matte lipstick I had on was, and a dear friend recommended getting this matte lipstick from the balm. When they had a two-for-one sale with free shipping, I sprung for these two gorgeous shades- Trustworthy and Faithful. (I did y’all a solid and found Trustworthy on Groupon here for $12.99!) These are real good. Still dryer than I personally like, I completely admit, I honestly don’t know if matte lipsticks are for me. However, the rich color glides on so well. I did end up dabbing a little Carmex over both of these colors, but they wore beautifully and nothing got all gunky in my lip creases. These also got great reviews online, so if you want more info, I’d check the product reviews.
